"How Keetsa is Eco-Friendly"

Keetsa is committed to presenting a line of sleep products that has a minimum impact on your pocketbook and on the environment. We have innovated many changes resulting in a more eco-friendly product line and process. Keetsa continues to seek out new innovations to create sleep products that you and your family can purchase with confidence. Here are our current eco-friendly innovations:

The Mattress Cover

We use unbleached cotton fabrics, bamboo blend fabrics and organic cotton fabrics. Most cotton fabric are bleached or dyed to achieve a more pleasing appearance. But the bleaching process exposes the materials to chemicals. By using unbleached and uncolored cotton fabric, we are lessening your exposure to chemicals used in the bleaching process. Our bamboo blend fabric uses 30% bamboo, a sustainable material, and 70% polyester. While being natural and sustainable, bamboo is unfortunately not durable enough by itself, so we have to blend it with polyester to create a cover that is less dependent on the oil industry and will still be durable enough to carry the Keetsa name. Our organic cotton covers are made with certified organic cotton and are available on The Keetsa and latex line.

The Mattress Fire Barrier

Federal Regulations requires all mattresses to comply with the new standard of fire compliance,16CFR1633. For The Keetsa Latex mattress, we use all natural 100% wool padding for our fire barrier. For other mattresses with memory foam layers, we use a fire barrier that is made with cotton fabric treated with non-toxic FR agent.

Inside the Mattress

1. Bio-Foam™ **

Memory foam is renowned for its durability and comfort. Yet, most memory foam is made with 100% petroleum oil. Not very eco friendly. Keetsa has innovated Bio-foam¢â, a new type of memory foam that replaces 12% of the petroleum oil with castor bean oil, a natural plant oil. This accounts for less dependency on the oil industry and most importantly, this foam has no detected VOC's and no detected formaldehyde. Much more eco-friendly. Click here to see our VOC report.

2. Latex Foam **

Keetsa Latex mattresses feature a latex core that uses all natural latex rubber. Latex is naturally hypo-allergenic, anti-bacterial, mildew and mold resistant. Our latex is LGA certified, QUL certified and ECO certified.

3. EverGreen™

Green Tea is increasingly recognized for its calming effect and for its powerful anti-oxidant. We utilize this powerful anti-oxidant in the form of Green Tea Extract mixed into the Bio-Foam formula to help ensure that our sleep products will maintain a fresh, natural scent without the use of chemical deodorizers.

The Mattress Base Materials:

Keetsa utilizes either an individually wrapped coil base or pre-consumer recycled foam base in our mattresses. The coil bases are made with recycled steel and individually wrapped to provide a supportive base while preventing motion transfer. Our foam bases utilize our innovative process of reclaiming our own scrap foam from the manufacturing process and mixing synthetic latex to create a recycled foam base material.

The Mattress Support Systems:

Keetsa mattresses are self supportive. They do not require traditional box springs to give the proper support, as long as the mattresses are placed on a flat, stable surfaced foundation or bed frame. Also, we believe box springs are another form of waste for the environment. By having a firm and supportive base for the mattress, we have reduced the mattress waste to half, not to mention the reduced price.

Our Packaging:

Because our mattresses are so durable and well designed, we are able to compress them in a box,which accounts for reduced shipping costs, smaller carbon footprint and no delivery trucks.

Not just any mattress can be compressed!
Keetsa uses a Patent-Pending process that allows all of our mattresses to come in a highly efficient package. We've tested many of the major competitive brands and they cannot stand up to this new technology. Only high quality components can be compressed and come back to their original shape. Keetsa has perfected this efficient process for all our mattresses and sleep products. Smaller packaging means a lower carbon footprint from the store to your house. All Keetsa products are packed into 100% recyclable boxes printed with water soluble ink. Also, the plastic bags used for the mattresses are bio-degradable.

Durability and Warranty:

We hear it everyday..."My mattress only lasted a few years before it started breaking down." Poorly made mattresses fill our landfills, not eco-friendly. Keetsa strives to create products that will outlast most major brands. We back up that commitment with one of the best mattress warranties in the business, a 20 year non-prorated warranty. We stand behind all our mattresses for 20 years. Well, we don't literally stand behind your bed...that would be kind of creepy.
