Just finished reading the story of Alicia, a 27 year old textile artist and soy candle maker based out of Maine, on the Eco Etsy Team blog. Alicia lives off grid in a solar powered home and creates all sorts of handmade goodies.
One such goodie is all natural soy candles made with essential oils. Alicia mentions in her story how in Maine winters are dark and cloudy – so her family ended up using the generator alot and at night they were using only one light. To conserve and to help her prepare dinner in a more brightly lit place (lol) – she went online and looked into making soy candles. She took to it well and now makes them regularly.
The soy candles are adorned with labels she makes herself using 100% recycled post consumer paper, and when an order is placed, the soy candles get shipped out using eco friendly gift boxes.
