Less Lights for Less Used Roads

One can just imagine the amount of electricity that street lights consume. Left on for practically 6 hours or more and situated in various places of a metropolis, they are useful and a blessing for people on the road to prevent mishaps and untoward incidents. But not all streets and roads are that high in traffic volume and perhaps either cutting the amount of street lights or turning them off in some abandoned portions of any vicinity can do more good than harm.
Most countries experience this. But for the sake of convenience and safety, they are left unnoticed. But these days, if it is justifiable to cut down on their energy consumption for streets that don’t get much activity, it can be a good recourse to consider cutting.
Just check out this plan made by Resources Minister George Pullicino of Malta. We may pick up some good ideas and perhaps try to encourage our localities towards doing the same.
