China’s Emissions Boosted By Exports

by David Allen on Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

For a long time, there have been concerns over the emissions created by the industrial growth in China; many of us are guilty of blaming the Chinese for this problem and the damage that it can do to our environment. However, it seems that some of the figures show that we may have partially got it wrong.

It seems that the west could be held responsible for at least some of the emissions created, the figures state that nine per cent of the emissions come from the manufacturing of good for the US alone. While six per cent comes from the making of goods for Europe, in fact in total over a third of Chinas emissions are created by the manufacturing of goods for export.
