In what seems like an unlikely produce, two people from the tech world have reportedly come up with a neat substitute to animal product-based products. The product is a plant-based artificial egg which should be a new kind of alternative to the plant-based ones ranging from baked goodies all the way to traditional mayonnaise.
Peter Thiel and Bill Gates have come with the vegan alternative which should aid developing countries in need of a cheaper source of protein.
All this was made possible thanks to Hampton Creek Foods who selected 12 plants which are widely known in Canada.
The plant-based egg costs 18 percent less to make than its battery-produced counterpart and eliminates the need for growing feed or handling the waste associated with farms. With backing from Bill Gates, the Silicon Valley-based firm is poised to tackle hunger in the third world and challenge factory-based agriculture.
