Fair Trade Sun-Dried Fruit Snacks

by Missy on Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

I love fruit and dried fruit snacks. I love them even more when they are Fair Trade certified.

In the town of Robertson, South Africa is a fair trade co-op that brings about fair employment, wages, and hope to the locals. Through the co-op, the locals are responsible for packaging the Fair Trade Fruit Snacks. The wages the workers receive are above average for the region, and this employment opportunity brings about a sense of empowerment.

As for the treats, the sugar-free fruit snacks come in strips of 100% pure dried pear, peach, and nectarine from the Cape area of South Africa, and these tasty snacks are available from Ethical Superstore.
