Indian Army Receives Eco-Innovation Award
The Corps of Engineers of the Indian Army were recently awarded the 2007 Golden Peacock Eco-Innovation Award.
The army’s successful eco-projects include planned afforestation, water conservation projects, drip irrigation projects, recycling of swimming pool water, soil conservation, rain water harvesting and projects relating to renewable energy sources.
The Golden Peacock Awards were established by the World Environment Foundation to award optimism, hard-work and innovation in combating global environmental issues.
