Battery Powered Chainsaws

by Brian Yalung on Friday, September 23rd, 2011

Chainsaws normally need the aid of electricity to make them work but now it looks like a new breed of chainsaws running on batteries will change all that. The Oregon PowerNow 40V MAX Battery Powered Chainsaw was made for the eco-conscious consumers, something that is reportedly quieter than the usual chainsaws.

Aside from that, the battery-powered chainsaw eliminates the unwanted gas odors and all you have to do is push a button and it is good for use. The PowerNav chainsaw can cut down about 250 branches with a 2-3 inch diameter and also comes with a built-in sharpening system.

It is powered by a 1.2 Ah battery and retails for about $399. A more powerful model comes with a 2.4 Ah battery and costs $499.
