Disney may not necessarily be the company you would hear when it comes to developing some form of alternative energy but the group does have a Research department for such kind of technologies.
In fact, Disney Research seems to have stumbled upon something, an electricity generator that is made from paper. The said discovery is able to render power to juice up LEDs and e-paper displays, quite interesting considering that energy is something that has been assigned to select sources.
Apparently Disney Research developed the said technology through electrets, materials which hold quasi-permanent electric charges. The paper is made from a sheet of Teflon which is sandwiched between two conductive layers of metalized polyester where when rubbed, an electrical charge is produced.
Thus any form of friction or rubbing would generate the charge, something which could probably be used in this interactive media like posters perhaps.
