It is not the first time we have heard of energy generation through walking but the SolePower is certain to gain as much attention as previous concepts we have seen already.
SolePower is a shoe insole that helps generate energy as the one wearing it moves. It can be easily slipped into shoes or any kind of footwear, something which is wired to a rechargeable battery which is worn around the user’s ankle.
And as you would guess, power is generated through movement or in this case walking, ample stored energy to recharge mobile phones and other gadgets you may have on the go.
As most, it does have limits. This includes that of not being able to accommodate weights over 350lbs, and only come in sizes smaller than women’s 8.
The SolePower is taking donations through Kickstarter, and a contribution of $100 will snag you an ambling accessory. The first units should be available by late 2014.
