Eco-friendliness is hitting outer space as well thanks to the alternatively powered Skylon Space Plane. This is an unmanned ship that reportedly runs on Hydrogen and Oxygen, helping the environment while it sets sail into outer space.
Aside from the fact that it uses these two elements, the plane also boasts of a complicated SABRE engine that can actually grab oxygen from the air to use as fuel. With the ESA’s approval, Reaction Engines is planning to build a prototype engine for testing purposes. With a struggling space tourism industry, this is one development that could seen develop into something relevant with the rapid pace of technology applied to environmental concerns.
