We all know for a fact that the batteries that most that our devices carry would have to run out at some point. Chargers are fine and so with backup batteries. But if you are interested in another potential recharging solution, these light powered screens should be something interesting.
Aside from the fact that they do away with the need for bulky peripherals on the go, the Sunpartner Group of France may have an entirely comfortable solution with the technology they call Wysips.
Wysips is actually a small layer of photovoltaic substances which are placed at the top of the screen. The transparent crystals in turn capture energy through natural or artificial lighting thus turning the LCD screen of your device into a solar array that keeps on recharging your device’s battery.
When exposed to sunlight, the crystals that compose this thin layer can produce up to 2.5mW per cm2. This is for 90% transparent materials, suitable for being placed on a screen. Another option is a 60% to 70% transparent layer which can produce up to 10mW per cm2.
