Soccer balls would of course be kicked around or be in motion once put into play. And it seems that with that in mind, someone has thought of a sensible idea to turn that into a useful power generating idea.
The Socket Soccer Ball did appear on Kickstarter before but now for a pledge of $89, you can get one.
So what does it do?
A special kind of technology built in the soccer ball captures and stores electricity once the ball is kicked around. Designed for countries which have limited access to electricity, the stored energy can provide up to three hours of electricity.
The soccer does come with a LED lamps but if you don’t need that, all you have to do is plug through the USB jack your gadget and recharge it.
The recharging ability is only 6W so don’t expect too much power to be added on to your device. And with that amount, the ball may not be able to power up drained tablets.
