Africa is a region that is sorely lacking in energy sources but it seems that some teenagers have come up with a neat idea by converting human waste into energy for this urine-powered generator.
The generator was showcased during the Maker Faire Africa. The event showcases various African innovations and gadgets annually. Among them included this generator which recycles human waste, credited to four students – Duro-Aina Adebola, Akindele Abiola, Faleke Oluwatoyin and Bello Eniola.
The generator can run up to six hours for every one liter of urine. The generator is said to be highly explosive, the reason why it only makes use of one-way valves.
