We all know that by shifting to LED lighting, you do a lot through savings since LED technology has somehow offered something saner compared to the usual incandescent bulbs traditionally used. But the buck doesn’t stop there thanks to designer Danielle Trofe who has somehow managed to integrate sand-power to offer a different kind of efficient lighting solution.
Trofe created two designs for the Most Wanted Design 2013, both made from hourglasses which make use of kinetic energy. Falling sand is the brains behind the energy-rendering piece to power the lamp/s where two models were unveiled.
One model is a sort of torch/flashlight-type situation, and the other is a flippable stool, both with the intent of offering more energy-conscious lighting solutions that will surely be something welcome in today’s eco-conscious world.
