Silent Falcon UAS Technologies has recently lifted the covers on their small UAV class, the solar powered Silent Falcon. This is the latest Unmanner Aircraft System which should be perfect for reconnaissance missions that is backstopped by alternative energy.
The Silent Falcon is made of lightweight carbon composites which should lessen the load for the solar electric propulsion system that powers it. It can stay for up to 14 hours in the sky.
It gets its energy from thin film photovoltaic panels built into the wings with lithium polymer batteries for storage. This means that the Silent Falcon can carry the necessary endurance for ISR missions, keeping it light with a maximum weight of 12.3 kilograms (27.1 lb)
