World’s Largest Solar Plant
The problem with solar power is that it requires huge amounts of space in order to spread out far enough to produce the power required to make it worthwhile. In China, they do not have these problems, as they are able to pick out favourable sites and develop them with none of the hassle that comes with developments in the west.
The China Technology Development Group Corp and their partners the private company Qinghai New Energy Group have found the right location in the Qaidam Basin where a 30 Mw solar power plant will be built, but this is going to be expanded to 1 Gw of power production in the future.

This could be huge for China. Even though they are huge polluters, they are making major strides in reducing their footprint and hopefully they continue to do so.
