Would You Eat Dog Meat for Christmas?
Life is indeed hard and if people had their way, they would look at various opportunities to make money the easy way. One thing that many animal rights observers should take note is how Filipinos use dog meat from the ordinary street dogs called “Asong Kalye or Askal” and use them as hearty meals to keep the body warm. Add to that, they provide a profitable income especially if you sell it to people in the colder areas of the Philippines like Baguio.
But still, it remains that killing dogs for meals seems to be improper. Dogs were never aligned with the meat sector as far as proper nutrition is concerned. Health issues may crop up though many deny it.
Also, the fact remains that a dog is a pet and not similar to chickens or cows that can be slaughtered and eaten at any time. People who are doing this are gross. But while they use the financial crisis as a reason, they may see themselves in worst situations now that they have been apprehended.
