Giken came up with the said solution for bicycles, a popular mode of transportation in Japan. It is capable of storing hundreds of bikes.
The storage system is 11 meter deep well which is able to store 204 bikes. It takes about t2 months to set up.
Located near Kounanhoshi Park in Japan, the underground parking system is automated and has a loading bay where users are required to park their bicycles.
From there, the system automatically finds empty slots and parks it. The system takes about 8 seconds to park the bike and 8 seconds more to retrieve it
