Reading Eco-Labels
Eco-Label.org is a great resource for those unsure of exactly what an environmentally-friendly label is saying or if it means what it says (or says what it means!).
It will teach you about environmentally friendly products and how and why they are more beneficial to the earth than traditional versions, it keeps track and compares labels through a nifty report card system, and lets you register for specific news updates to accommodate your product or shopping interests!
They have organized the products they assess into helpful categories including Organic, Pest Management, Social Responsibility, Sustainable Agriculture, Sustainable Fishing, Sustainable Wood, Animal Welfare, General Claims.
It’s really easy to use and is thoughtfully laid-out. If you do have problems or suggestions, they are open to feedback! I suggest bookmarking this site for future reference if you are ever confused about or want to learn more about the labels in our everyday lives!
