UK Supermarket Starts Eco Friendly Deliveries

Sometimes it is hard to demarkate between eco friendly and supermarkets. The two have hardly ever been compatible due to the fact that they both operate at different sides of the spectrum. However, recently, supermarket leaders have realized that they could be missing out on some valuable business by not making any green moves. That is all about to change.

The Waitrose chain of supermarkets has traditionally catered to the upper crust section of the UK’s shoppers. This is probably why the Cambridge store will now be delivering via very green transport. The new bicycle delivery service means that the store can increase deliveries, but at the same time, cut back on van usage. This also helps keep in tune with the University City’s love affair with the bike.

I think it’s great. I believe New York has been doing that for a while. If people are willing to pay for it, why not?
