Build your own electric car
When you are talking about the all the technology involved in building the perfect electric car and how much money is going to go into research and development, it is pretty refreshing to hear when an ordinary guy goes out and buys a secondhand car and a power pack with all the equipment that goes with it. Eventually after a lot of work and time he ends up with a fully functioning electric car.
Sounds crazy, but this is a true story, Greg Coleman bought an old Yugo, and began the transformation, he managed to buy everything off of eBay, at very good prices, the car originally weighed in at 1800lbs and when finished weighed 1640lbs, the test runs went ok too, he gets around 35 mph, so there you have it, a DIY electric car.
