We have seen a lot of electric vehicle concepts lately but for the purpose of education and maybe to experience how to build one, Modi-Corp of Japan reveals its built-it-yourself EV in the form of the “Pius”.
The Pius is registered as a class-1 motorized bicycle in Japan which will allow students to understand the basic functions and structure of EVs. The whole thing could land in many universities soon for the sake of understanding the new technology EVs bring.
Aside from that, Modi also offers a service of embedding components in the vehicle so customers can use the vehicle to evaluate the components. No word yet on how much these DIY EVs would cost but expect that to come simultaneously when the Pius comes out by the Spring of 2013.
