A fuel-celled vehicle was reportedly successful when it was shot off from a submarine to stream live video back to the submarine and provide support for ships and naval command vessels.
The said UAV was shot off from the USS Providence and ran on fuel cell from there. The said UAV took less than six years to produce. After using up the power it was armed with, the UAV landed at a land-based location.
The UAV made use of a Sea Robin launch and was fired from the submarine’s torpedo tube.
The Robin system was designed to use an empty Tomahawk launch canister that is already familiar to submarine crew.
