GM Making Great Green Strides

General Motors is doing pretty good on the green front. Not great, but they made a lot of progress over the past few months, and progress is always good to see! (Well, green progress is!)

GM is launching four different hybrid models this year. The Saturn Aura, Chev Malibu and the houses-on-wheels Tahoe and Yukon hybrid models will all be launched in the fall. GM is still working out the “all-important mix of power and fuel economy”, but should be good to go on all fronts by September 2007.

While the incentive for GM to go green isn’t all selfless and good — vice chairman Bob Lutz said that GM’s sales are “doomed” if they don’t challenge Toyota in the green market — it’s still nice to see one of the slowest companies to make a green moving doing something.
