Heuliez Launches Eco-friendly Vehicles

A lot of new concept vehicles have come about and this one launched by Heuliez is something to add to that roster. Saved from bankruptcy by an Indian investor last year, French contract manufacturer Heuliez has sold its first electric car.
While the 3-wheeled Pelican models are nothing like a car, they break the ice for a company trying to establish itself in a new automotive order. The Pelican is a 16-mph (25-km/h) utility cart that might be used by gardeners, street cleaners and other light-commercial activities. Powered by a 6-hp (4.6-kW) motor and a 48-volt, 95-amp/h lead-acid battery, it has a range of 22 miles (35 km). Its front-facing pickup bed can carry a payload of 441 lbs. (200 kg).
Could this be signs of alternative transportation solutions ahead? If so, then they are bound to get back on track and buckle down to business as the demand for alternative transport continues to rise.
