Honda’s FCX Clarity Hydrogen Car

We have read and heard of car manufacturers frantically trying to come up with solutions to battle the rising fuel prices and oil shortage issues and most have turned towards the direction of alternative fuel or energy to resolve the dilemma. It is apparent that the current crop of vehicles on the roads these days are no longer ideal and for sure, expect a whole new line of vehicles hitting the streets soon.
Honda Motors, a popular brand for car preference of Japan based vehicles is not about to be left behind. They have announced the FCX Clarity as its contribution towards the car market, functioning on hydrogen and electricity and emits only water over the usual fumes that are obvious contributors towards the global warming issues today. Jamie Lee Curtis leads the line of popular personalities who have tried it out already.
Among the first customers are actress Jamie Lee Curtis and filmmaker husband Christopher Guest, actress Laura Harris, film producer Ron Yerxa, as well as businessmen Jon Spallino and Jim Salomon.
“It’s so smooth,” said Harris, who played villainness Marie Warner on the hit TV show “24″ and was flown over by Honda for the ceremony. “It’s like a future machine, but it’s not.”
The FCX Clarity is an improvement of its previous-generation fuel cell vehicle, the FCX, introduced in 2005.
A breakthrough in the design of the fuel cell stack, which is the unit that powers the car’s motor, allowed engineers to lighten the body, expand the interior and increase efficiency, Honda said.
