Remember those landmark double decker buses which ply through the roads of London? Well it looks like the Routemaster Double Deckers may soon be shelved with reports that new hybrid buses are set to take their place.
Transport for London (TFL) wants to scrap all these old double deckers and replace them with new hybrid buses called “Boris Buses”.
The move stands to do away with the heritage portion of route 9, something which runs 20 minutes during daytime between Kensington High Street and Trafalgar Square.
Should it pull through, only a handful of Routemasters would be left.
All in all the community does not like the ill-timed move that coincides with the upcoming 60th anniversary celebration for the Routemasters—a two day festival that will be held in Finsbury Park on July 12th and 13th, 2014.
