School buses, functional and rides that make life easier for kids to go to and from school, are among the many pollution-rendering vehicles we know of today. However, with some enhancements like perhaps adding some pedal-powered backing, a solution to bring down the carbon emission issue may be within reach.
Something like the De Café Racer Bso would be neat. The pedal-powered bus can accommodate up to 10 kids and an adult driver and even comes with an electric engine to ensure that kids and the driver for that matter don’t get fatigued from doing all that leg work.
While the idea is indeed cool, realistically speaking, parents may not be all that too emphatic about seeing their little tykes doing all the work along with other kids. Besides, parents want their kids reaching the school well-rested and fresh so perhaps it is still better to leave the electric buses as the prime source unless kids are really encouraged to do some exercise (but only to a certain level).
