Hybrid cars are a great way to show your commitment towards going green, but unfortunately they are not very pocket-friendly or at times not very functional. The e rx is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner and if it ever enters production, it will be a runaway success. Designed by Maila Thon, the e rx is a battery-powered electric vehicle concept and the idea is to have an optional range extender made available for rent at gas stations or car dealerships. This kit would include combustion engine, exhaust system, cooling unit and fuel tank.
Some other features thought by Maila Thon are the availability of the car in different sizes, in terms of power output and the size of the fuel tank. The car would stick to a lightweight and cost-efficient design, and this would include the reduction of fabricated parts.
