The Eco-Friendly Ford Explorer Has Arrived

Armed with better fuel economy and a lighter chassis, Ford has officially unveiled the 2011 Ford Explorer. The new vehicle boasts of an improved V6 engine that offers 20% better fuel economy and fitted with Ford’s new four cylinder EcoBoost Engine.
The new Explorer is about the same size and only about 100lbs lighter than its predecessor. But while earlier models were built on a pick-up truck frame, the new model is classified as a crossover vehicle. A car-like chassis puts it closer to the ground with less towing and off-road capacity.
