With much of the attention shifting towards electric-powered vehicles, here is another one for you which may be a step ahead. While many designers and manufacturers worry about the battery life, Chris Daisy focuses on the car weight with the Ultra Light Electric Vehicle Concept.
His designed electric vehicle weighs only 600 pounds or about a quarter of the weight of small cars. This should allow the car to travel farther and offer less pressure on the needed power to run the vehicle. The ULEV may yet be a great alternative compared to bikes over the bigger and heavier vehicles being offered in the market.
The car can be driven from either side thanks to a central joystick that sits between the two seats. Buttons on the joystick are programmable and can be operated by voice, encouraging the driver to keep his or her attention on the road at all times.
Each of the wheels features its own individual motor and internal disc brake. Every component is made of lightweight carbon fiber to cut down on the overall weight of the vehicle.
