The creation and discovery of energy saving devices continues and at the 2007 Create The Future Design Contest, a patent-pending designed material that emits light for more than a decade without electricity or sun exposure, has won $20,000 for being the grand prize.
Litroenergy, employs self-luminous micro particles called Litrospheres to emit light for 12 or more years without exposure to any external energy source. The relatively inexpensive

So you have a stack of retro LP albums in your attic or basement, just sitting their collecting dust. Maybe one day you will put them on Ebay or donate to a local thrift, but consider this idea. (read below)

My roommate owns a restaurant, and i see styrofoam trays alot. More than i care to, really. These styrofoam trays (and the restaurant business) are so wasteful. They are terrible for the enviroment.
Well, here is a neat idea i found over at Crafty Bits, a Styro Foam Tray recycled project that involves turning these horrid trays into something pretty and something useful. The project is quite simple, can be done quickly, and is a great kid-frie

I seem to be coming up with weirder and weirder blog post titles, forgive my sense of humor. The title is in reference to a crank up radio, where we (you) become the battery. (so to speak)

The Freeplay radio is half crank powered and half solar powered. The way it works is you crank it up around 54 times, and it will give you roughly 30 minutes of play time, then it will feed off the sun, based on a solar panel at the top of

Get the message out there and tell everyone to “Pull the plug”.
Its amazing really that we leave the electrical items plugged in and on standby, never worry about it, but there is some cost as these device still draw on power even when they are turned off, although it is not as serious as the fire hazard that plugged in electrical items are.
By the way, every year in the US consumers spend around $5 billion powering up items that they are

It’s a very interesting name and one that you would probably never forget, so it’s already branded.
The design is supposed to help plants survive on small amounts of water.
There is nothing worse than buying a beautiful looking plant that when you next see it, the plant is dead simply because you had forgotten to water it.
So what these pots do is tell you when they need a drop of water, it makes them behave like a little pet.

The best way to go with the conservation binge is to turn towards water savings devices such as this one offered by Cistern. Water is a key resource and most of us need it. But while we all have this common belief that water flows endlessly, the end may soon be upon us. We see a lot of parts of the world having to live without water and if we use it up, we may join that contingent soon.
Now many people would turn to water saving devices to cut

Is your car causing you problems when it comes to fuel consumption? Well then perhaps it is time to make some moves into considering devices that can help save fuel as the Universal Fuel Saver. We have been exposed to a lot of fuel saving devices and normally the issue would be the impact and problems it would cause to our vehicles.
It is best to turn to tested fuel saving devices and while we may be saving on fuel consumption, it is the overal

With all the clamors we hear around with regards to the conservation of energy use, each consumer may want to check out the amount of electricity that certain appliances in their wing are consuming. Of course, some people would care less and would want to continue utilizing electricity to their liking and demands but the matter of rising electricity costs is something that may be a good reason for them to consider using the Wattson Energy Meter.

It is evident that most people today have cellular phones and while they may be awesome to use, we just have to realize that the power of their batteries would not last long if they are not recharged. Rather than rely on recharging them by plugging in the usual adaptors to the electric outlets, there is a wind-up phone charger that can be a good alternative to help the drive in saving up the consumption of energy today.

The energy-friendly LED, Halogen, and CFL, are what they are to be replaced with. These are pricier (by a few dollars) but they also last much much longer and they will also save you moola in annual energy bills.
The incandescent lightbulbs are to be phased out over the next 10 to 12 years and no longer to be used. A tall task since Americans have

Who needs to go to a nice and shiny gym all that chrome, rubber and plastic!
This is located in Valdespino Somoza in Spain, so its idea for outside then, but just look at how this is constructed, it’s from scrap, which includes car batteries, wood, wheels, concrete blocks, bikes and rocks.
This is truly a green gym, but there is no mention of price for membership etc.

We are all aware that in our regions, power shortages to satisfy the growing demand and need for power is a reality. However, while we are all aware of this lack of power resources, the journey towards finding alternative sources of energy seems to be going at a snails pace. We are all aware that the need for power to make most of our gadgets and appliances work efficiently is a need, we just don’t have sufficient power to power all of them.

We are all aware that everything is going up these days and the need for alternative energy is readily apparent. No longer is it an age where we can simply cut cost by turning of some lights and sacrificing. It is apparent that we cannot sustain this kind of lifestyle at the rate that energy costs are rising.
