Watch What Species You Shoot Down

One can just imagine what people find in shooting down animals that they see. Some just cannot find anything to do while others simply want to try out new gadgets and stuff like let’s say a new rifle which they can point at moving and living species. While the responsibility of using it is a given, it is likewise noteworthy to know which you are aiming for.

Bald eagles have long been known to be among the endangered species list and while we rarely see them these days, it sort of sound crazy to hear that a child or a woman would shoot a bald eagle at first sight.

Tramm’s son shot the eagle, and Tramm pleaded guilty to her role in the crime as part of a plea agreement, said the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Green Bay office, which investigated the shooting. The son was not charged.

Minnesota conservation officers Dan Perron and Mike Lee responded to a complaint to the Minnesota “Turn in Poachers” hotline that a bald eagle had been killed in Mora last fall. The officers failed to retrieve the eagle but did obtain a confession.

“This investigation and prosecution sends a strong message about the level of importance we place on protecting of our natural resources,” DNR Commissioner Mark Holsten said.

So the next time you want to shoot at something, try to think twice. It’s not just about the money. It is about the creatures you are pushing further to extinction.

Overfishing Salmon Can be the Next Eco-Problem

Fish is a good alternative to meat and chicken. Aside from being a healthy dish if cooked in the right way, salmon is certainly among the common food preference of people these days. But while we know that there are plenty of fish in the sea, we should not get complacent as to the availability of this resource. Just like most of our crops, livestock and meat, they too can reach the point of endangerment.

As far as the British is concerned, over a million people eat salmon everyday. But you cannot help but wonder on how long these sea creatures can last. Perhaps the need to look into pushing for aggressive salmon farming can help eliminate this area from getting out of hand.

Salmon Farming

Salmon Farming

Environmentalists have complained that salmon farming is denuding the sea of the smaller wild fish fed to the carnivorous salmon. By the time it is harvested from a Scottish loch or Norwegian fjord, a salmon will have consumed many times its final weight in sand eels or whiting.

Whatever the concerns, there is little prospect of a large-scale return to wild salmon. Fish farming is likely to be with us for the long-term, prospering from the failure of political leaders to stop over-fishing, which, according to one recent study, is likely to destroy wild populations as soon as 2048.

Keeping chickens can get you evicted

With the whole eco movement flowing through our lives these days, it is not unusual to find ordinary people trying to do their bit, like growing vegetables and keeping chickens, these are just normal green things to do.

Unless you are Matthew Everitt and Michelle Hodgetts, from Rugby, Warricks, in the UK. They planted up their garden with vegetables and some fruits, but to complete the transformation they decided to get some chickens about twenty-five! The local council have told the couple that chickens are not pets and either they go or the couple goes. Apparently, the council’s guidelines suggest a maximum of six chickens as long as they get permission.

Meet the Eco-friendly “Bag Lady” Diane Lane

For being among the many people who have started to make good use of reusable shopping bags, Oscar-nominated actress Diane Lane has garnered the tag “the Bag Lady”. But don’t let that fool you. She is aiming more than just showing that she is an eco-friendly shopper.

Diane Lane

For her part, she is also aiming to devise a way to spread the word on how to eat sustainable via the fish we eat. Apparently this stems from trying to satisfy two issues at hand: the sea creatures that serve as our food and trying to help these sea creatures such as whales and walruses continue to exist as well.

We all know that their existence is playing along the lines of extinction and through the efforts of such people as Diane Lane, we can be more educated and aware of health and environmentally friendly issues present today.

Biodegradable Eco-friendly Engine Oil Made From Cow Fat!

Biodegradable Eco-friendly Engine Oil Made From Cow Fat!

The 2-cycle green engine oil might be the best invention we’ve noticed so far this year.

Green Earth Technologies, creator of organic engine products, has released their new automotive lubricant to its G-Oil line, a 10W-30 that has set a new biodegradability standard. The oil biodegraded over 90% in a speedy 9 days, blowing the 28-day rate of decomposition required by the American Society of Testing Materials out of the water. Pretty impressive.
