With the demand for batteries expected to increase soon, the opening of more manufacturing plants has become a profitable opportunity. K2 Energy Solutions has revealed that they are constructing a new 90,000 square-foot facility in Varkaus, Finland. The new facility will be used to manufacture safe and eco-friendly high-capacity batteries for Europe’s advanced industrial, energy and transportation needs. It is being constructed in conjunction with K2’s European technology partner, European Batteries.

Utilizing the world’s most advanced lithium battery technology, K2 and EB are working in close collaboration to create the world’s most advanced rechargeable battery. Through this alliance, the companies intend to develop a safer, more efficient battery chemistry that is specifically designed to address Europe’s need for high-capacity rechargeable batteries.

The $44 million facility is expected to be completed in Fall of this year, with full battery production beginning in early 2010.

However, the telecom provider O2 has produced a range of eco friendly phone chargers, which are on sale in the UK. These chargers use seventy per cent less power and even comply with the strict US energy star rating. It is estimated that if every mobile phone user in the UK change their charger to one of these, it would around £31.4 ($45) million and cut down carbon emission by the equivalent of 36,000 cars.

At last there is hope for anyone who has found that just at the time when you need to turn the TV over the batteries are run down, leaving you with a bit of a predicament. This is the dream device for all guys as they are the ones who think that it is the end of the world the remote fail to work properly.

This is the No Battery Remote Control by the SMK Corp. it works on the principal similar to one of those toy ray guns, where the user squeezed the trigger a few times and it began to light up the lights and make futuristic sounds. This RC has a similar mechanism which is enough to power the RC for a few changes of channel and maybe even volume control too. It’s a prototype at the moment, but it has to be the best green TV remote around.

The one thing about solar cells is that they do not look that great and often stand out like a sore thumb no matter where they placed. So wouldn’t it be great if there was a way of producing these solar cell products which actually fitted into the surroundings?

That is what the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) along with Tokki Corp and Mitsubishi Corp have been doing. They have come up with a brilliant prototype which looks like a common house plant, but in reality is so much more.

Now this is a really useful ideal which will do people many favours when the evenings get a bit dark and you are trying to open up your front door.

This solar key hole light charges up in the day time, and then all you need to do is to touch the top and this turns the light on, it will stay on for just ten seconds which will be enough to get the key in the lock and open the door.

This is a great little item, imagine being out and you need something that is powered by battery, and of course they have run down, what do you do now?

This charger is ideal for outside or travelling, when your batteries run down just out them in here and the sun will charge them up for you. Batteries are so un green, but rechargeable batteries are great and these can be charged up to 300 times, which should last a couple of weeks.
