Eco-Sensor Phones Brings Nokia to the Green

Nokia Eco-Sensor Concept

Nokia has added another feather in its cap as far as going green is concerned. Most companies today are trying to figure out a way to go green and Nokia, a known cellular phone giant manufacturer, has just offered the world another dimension towards green living standards by using recycled materials and offering an OLED screen to reduce power usage of these phones.

No pricing has been divulged but it is sure to be costly. This is only normal considering new mobile phones in the market are always coming out at expensive rates which eventually diminish over time.

It is pleasant to see that Nokia is stepping up with technology that will give it nurturing care to the earth. The Nokia Eco-Sensor is manufactured with eco materials combined with sensors that keep an eye on pollution levels. The phone uses recycled materials such as plant based plastics and 100% recycled steel for its casing.

The phone goes a step forward with pollution control by using an OLED screen to reduce power usage by the phone. The phone also checks the weather information by checking the humidity and Nokia plans a health version as well, which will monitor the heart rate. To add icing to the cake, Nokia has plans of inculcating a solar powered battery as well.

The solar powered alarm clock

Buy this for the person who has trouble getting up in the mornings and they will never have a decent excuse for being late for work ever again. The solar powered alarm clock is actually one of the first products to have been awarded the Blue Angel environment label; this is an internationally recognised award.

solar alarm

This clock is so cool that even if there was no sun, the rechargeable battery will last over a year. So this clock has it all covered. Even all of those other excuses, like the seasonal time changes and the clock was slow or fast, these do not apply with this clock as it is updated via radio control, so the time is always the right time.

You get an alarm and snooze button too; you just cannot go wrong with this clock.

Keetsa Mattresses on The View with Carter Oosterhouse!

Our Keetsa eco-friendly mattresses were on The View earlier this morning on channel ABC, a show hosted by Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg (Whoopi was missing in action today), Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Sherri Shepherd with one of my favorite HGTV green show host, Carter Oosterhouse!

The most ironic thing is that I started watching Carter’s shows on HGTV about a month before this show aired. That show is awesome and Carter uses everything eco-friendly and green to rebuild your kitchen, backyard, etc…etc… My favorite is the backyard make-up for that basketball coach.

Anyways, our blog traffic shot up today and make sure to subscribe to our eco-friendly and green blog today!

And go Carter Ooosterhouse! (from one of your fans Max from Keetsa & SiteHoppin.com!)

Sony-Ericsson Adjudged Eco-Friendly Phone

Sony Ericsson

Being eco-friendly is the distinction that any company looks forward to and in the gadget and technology world, mobile phones are bound to be fighting for that right. While other companies are trying to battle for this, Sony Ericsson has been given the nod as the eco-friendly phone today.

Many are expecting Nokia to garner this award but anyone can get their time of fame. In this case, Sony Ericsson just made one and most of it is thanks to the components that make up the mobile phone mania that most people are going crazy about today.

In its study “Searching for green electronics,” environmental organization Greenpeace called for computer and phone manufacturers to put forward their most eco-friendly products, ranging from cellular phones to notebooks to gaming consoles.

After examining the products’ environment-related aspects such as amounts of dangerous chemicals, energy efficiency, recyclability and marketing strategies, Greenpeace heralded Sony-Ericsson’s phones, out of 37 other products from other manufacturers, to have obtained top honors for the most environmentally-friendly gadgets.

Green Cell Mobile Battery

Green Mobile Phone Batteries

Mobile phone batteries a demand especially since most people find themselves getting into a frenzy whenever a new mobile phone hits the market. But while everyone is concerned more about studying and learning how to operate it along with its features, batteries become an issue after some time when they have lived out their useful life.

There are a lot of batteries out there like lithium ironed produced ones but as far as adhering towards green standards is concerned, few have considered it before they actually buy alternative eco-friendly batteries. The green mobile battery is a good consideration and can be a good help to people who want to help the green effort the world is currently trying to build on.

The Green Cell battery is made without toxic chemicals and is safe and environmentally friendly. It can also be recharged or replaced at a local vending machine. Yep, that’s right, there’ll be no more need for all those batteries and power sources, you’ll be able to swap your battery over and get a can of soft drink from the machine next door. Simple, eco-friendly and sustainable

Power Flushing Eco-Friendly Turbines

Hydroelectric Turbine Energy

Flushing a toilet does not really produce anything for us other than sanitation in our bathrooms. But while we underestimate such a practice, a new device was developed where rushing water will be used as another alternative source of energy.

Hydroelectric power is another source of energy that can help improve the energy demands we all need in our homes. Finding out an innocent way of making it occur in our homes has been developed and it all can be instigated by a simple flush of a toilet.

Electronics giant Philips is all set to create a sensor bed that keeps a close watch on the health of heart failure patients, a project being funded by the European Union.

One of the aims of the ‘My Heart’ project is to help spot heart problems several days before they become life threatening, reports said.

Gravia Lamp For Better Ambiance

Gravia Lamp

One other consideration that people place when they go eco-friendly and green is to retain the level of ambiance that their homes carry. Such is the concept that the Gravia Lamp aims to achieve outside the usual green standards that this new lighting that is cordless provides to people who consider them among their furnishings.

If there is one thing that should be noted, it should be the drive for people to conserve energy consumption and use lighting in the safest way possible. The Gravia lamp is sure to be a good buy especially for people who look at ambiance and conservation in the green compliant standards that we are now placing the world in for our own good.

We’re all looking for the next interesting eco-friendly offering, but I don’t think many of us considered the role gravity might have to play in lighting… except Virginia Tech’s Clay Moulton, designer of the Gravia lamp.

In basic terms, it makes use of a slow-falling mass to turn a rotor. This powers the 10 high-output LEDs which are diffused by an acrylic lens. Silent, cord free, soft lighting with an output equivalent to about 40 watts, just by moving some weights from the bottom of the elegant casing to the top.
