Creative Classics is already a store that has made a good living in offering living room, dining room, bedroom and office furniture handcrafted in the U.S. using solid North American hardwoods. And now, they have extended that niche by adding eco-friendly mattresses to its product lineup.

The mattresses are handcrafted in North Carolina using Natural Talalay Latex and soy-based foams along with a natural wool and silk quilt featuring a bamboo fiber ticking. Natural Latex is extracted from tropical rubber trees and due to the washing process used is 100% allergy free. It is also antimicrobial, dust mite resistant, and mildew resistant.

Latex is an extremely durable material that instantly conforms to body shape, provides superior orthopedic support and is also completely biodegradable. The natural wool and silk quilt has excellent thermal properties making it warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer plus it’s all natural, non-allergenic, and 100% biodegradable.

The Bamboo-based fabrics used for the ticking are naturally hypoallergenic and anti-microbial, eliminating the need for harmful chemical additives. Textiles made from bamboo pulp are environmentally friendly because bamboo requires no pesticides and, with sufficient rainfall, no irrigation.

Recycled Plastic as Pillows?

We all know that pillows would have to be soft and cuddly to get a good night’s sleep but apparently recycled materials have been found to provide that as well. There are actually 1,600 recyclable materials that you can use and apparently this is something worth checking out.

Hollander Home Fashions, a major bedding manufacturer, created the Natural Elements Pillow, the insides of which are made of crushed, recycled green plastic bottles.

The pillows’ eco-friendly fiber fill – called “beepee” – requires 30 to 40 crushed plastic bottles each, depending on the pillow size. While you may find this a bit awkward, if it is a point for eco-friendliness as well as comfort, then why not? Check them out at local stores. They are under the Natural Elements Brand.

Yey, we have new signs! Finally, Keetsa.com is clearly visible on 9th Street in San Francisco.

We are the “new Mattress Store” because we are eco-friendly and green!

Here’s a street view… cheers! We wanna thank everyone for having some interest in Keetsa over the last couple months. Although we have been blogging, we will keep blogging and hopefully change the world one mattress at a time.

As promised in earlier post, here’s some pictures and video from our new Keetsa Mattress Store.

Here’s a view from the other side of the street. Our store is located 271 9th Street, San Francisco.

Here’s a little mock-up box we made for fun until our store signs are up. Yes, that’s right, all our eco-friendly and green mattresses fit in that box and it’s even got handles and wheels so you can wheel it home.

These are great mattresses. They all come with “Green Tea Memory Foam”, which has Green Tea extracts to keep the mattress smelling fresh and you can benefit from Green Tea extracts. There’s also “NanoSilver” technology which kills bacteria. The best feature is that all the mattresses have cedar oil which keep spiders, moths, and other bugs away.

How are our mattresses eco-friendly?

First, we use 100% recycled steel for the springs and more than 75% of all the mattresses are made from recycled or recycle-able materials. Cool huh?

Another way we plan to cut the carbon footprint is by having all these mattressed compressed into a box. We invented a new way of compressing the spring coils at the factory so it fits in a box.

So we can ship directly from our central warehouses in LA and Chicago instead of having the traditional mattress stores ship to their retail stores first then ships it to the customer via an inefficient mattress truck.

Well, we haven’t officially opened yet, but we have been selling 5 to 11 mattresses a day!
