Well according to the makers of Vodka 360 there certainly could be and why not? Just because it is alcohol does not mean that the product and every thing about has to be totally un green.

Vodka 360 is made by the McCormick Distilling Co and they have really gone to town on their green credentials, by using all the latest methods in distilling as well using as much recycled materials in the production of all their marketing materials and labelling.

They have all of the right looking paper work and figures, so we would have to say that yes in fact a drink like vodka can, if it made in the right manner under the right condition it can be eco friendly.

This has been a very long time coming, it the green basket ball, well actually its black and is eco friendly because it uses forty per cent recycled rubber. Now that may not seem to be much, but surely anything that is recycled is better than nothing.

However it has been estimated that when seventy of these balls are purchased, then that will be the equivalent of a car tyre, now that really does makes sense because tyres and land fill sites just do not make good partners.

To make the whole package green, the makers Wilson have also made sure that the packaging that the ball comes in use eighty per cent recycled cardboard.

Hi, guys i have found a series of eco friendly futon covers from a loyal reader of our blogs, his name is Matt. I like to call him Futon Matt. He specializes in all sorts of futon mattresses and has been in the futon business for over 7 years. That’s alot of time to be around any one thing. LOL.

Let me get serious for a second. I was perusing the site that Matt has created and on the left sidebar is a section devoted to his eco friendly offerings. This mailbox looks cool from a distance, it is only as you get closer that you actually find out what it has been made from, and these license plates are real old one that would have been binned if not saved to create something a nice looking as what this looks.

Well they finally done it, the hemp powered car! Yes that’s right it car that has travelled over 13,000 miles and visited over 50 cities in just 92 days, in that time the car used up around 600 gallons of the hemp fuel.

Hemp fuel is actually a bio diesel that could run on an ordinary diesel engine without any modifications etc, there are many types of bio diesel around which means that eventually there will be a choice of which flavour fuel you desire.

The Hemp powered car

This would seem to be a bit of a contradiction in terms the fact eco friendly and potato chips are actually mentioned in the same paragraph, but there is a bit of a green revolution going on not just in the world at large but also in the world of food and food production.

Some half a million potatoes are processed at the Frito Lay factory in Casa Grande, Arizona every single day, that’s a lot of oil, seasoning, packing, water and energy. Here are just a few things that the company are doing:

Installing high-tech filters to recycle most of the water used to rinse and wash potatoes, as well as the corn used to make other snacky goods

Burning the leftover sludge and harvest the resulting methane gas to run the plant’s boiler

Building at least 50 acres of solar concentrators behind the plant to generate solar power

Building a biomass generator to likely burn ag wastes for additional fuel

The factory refit will be finished around 2010 and there will be some serious eco savings, such as 90% saving on electricity and water, and gas usage will be cut by 80%, the humble potato chip is about the get a new image.

If you travel around the big apple you are sure to notice the little pieces of green dotted around the city, this is not some sort fungus or alien life bought but the brain child of some eco friendly street artist group that have discovered that this living graffiti has quite an impact on the city’s population.

There is a great feeling about these pieces of art, which have been placed in many different areas in Brooklyn and have covered many different shapes and sizes. Yet they appear to have very well received by the residents as they are still there and in fact in some cases there are some people who have taken them on and begun to look after them.

Jimmy Carter Project Builds Green TownHouses

Habitat for Humanity’s Jimmy Carter Project will bring to fruition green townhouses in LA for low-to moderate-income families.

Of all the housing that the Jimmy Carter Project has built, these will be the first to have “green building elements” to them, and will feature solar panels, energy-saving windows, and drought-resistant landscaping.

The homes are being built in L.A. because there is dire need there for affordable housing, as one in four families of four, only make between $20,000 and $40,000 annually, which keeps many out of housing.

Green housing benefits everyone, as it helps the environment and lets residents save big annually on water and energy bills.

Jimmy Carter Project Builds Green TownHouses

I know what you’re thinking, he’s gone completely mad! Well maybe so, but there is this guy who has challenged the ultimate land fill nightmare and has taken 250,000 plastic bottles along with wood and bamboo to support the structure.

There is even a 66ft x 54ft house on the island which is situated in a lagoon near to Puerto Aventuras, South if Cancun on the Caribbean coast of Mexico.

The whole thing took around three years to complete and to me it really does sound like paradise.

Man builds island out plastic bottles

Wal Mart offer new bags

The message is “Paper or Plastic? Or Neither!” and Wal Mart will be selling these at a $1 a go, and according to the company they will be taking them back when they have got to the end of their useful life. What they didn’t say is if they will be buying them back or just taking them back.

But at a $1 that is not a bad price to pay, other places are selling these for much more. The bag is made from 85% recycled materials which includes old hot water bottles. These bag will start to appear in the stores on the west coast, then they will become available nationwide shortly after.
