Football-Themed Fan Can Recycling Containers

Coca Cola continues its recycling program efforts by now purchasing football-themed recycling containers from Fan Cans. Initially, they had purchased baseball-themed recycling containers as part of their “Give it Back” campaign but perhaps since it is football season, these new recycling containers fit the sporting mood of the season.

Fan Cans can be produced with team and sponsor logos in any color, making it easier for teams, sponsors, and sports facilities to “go green” in an impactful and fun way. The 45-gallon waste receptacles and recycling bins utilize up to 50% post-consumer and industrial plastic, are highly-durable for expanded service life, and are 100% recyclable at the end of their life cycle.

Panasonic Hosts Electronics Recycling Event

We have been oriented on how to recycle and properly dispose of waste. But as far as electronic items are concerned, we all know for a fact that they may very well end up as scraps or recycled at the mercy of people doing all these environmental tasks. Panasonic happens to be one of those groups and in fact, they are hosting an Electronics Recycling event at the Secaucus, NJ corporate campus starting this Saturday at 9:00 a.m.

The community is welcome to recycle the following consumer electronics items: televisions, VCRs, stereos, monitors, computers, printers, cell phones, and more. Residents are also encouraged to bring in old eyeglasses that Panasonic will donate to local charitable organizations. As a thank you to the community for participating in this worthwhile event, the first 100 participants will receive a 4-pack of AA Panasonic Evolta batteries.

Panasonic Hosts Electronics Recycling Event

Detroit Opens Waste Management Facility

To help in the waste management efforts, Detroit announces the opening of a 63,000 sq. ft. facility in Lynch Road that will reportedly manage 150 tons of recyclables a day. Approximately $2 million was needed to renovate and purchase equipment to address the growing waste problems over at Detroit.

“Waste Management’s Detroit Recycling Center is an example of how Detroit is transforming into an economically diverse metropolitan area,” Mayor Bing said. “The company was able to take a large vacant commercial building and turned it into a sustainable business operation.”

Managing waste has become a growing concern not only in Detroit but the whole world. While most countries have come up with their own waste and recycling centers, this development promises to be a big boost and hopefully address the trash problems while encouraging recycling efforts as well.

Detroit Opens Waste Management Facility

4 LB Burger Debuts At Fifth Third Ballpark – Grosses Everyone Out!

I love marketing and I especially appreciate a good marketing gimmick, but how far is too far?

Case in point – the new 4lb (4,800 calorie) burger at the Fifth Third Ballpark in West Michigan. I’m sure this is just a ploy to get people in the park, but do you have to serve up a side of heart attack with your marketing? This is nuts.

What is in the 4lb burger? See below.

2 buns
5 beef patties (yes 5)
1 cup of chili
5 slices of cheese
salsa
nacho cheese
fritos (why? – god why?)
lettuce
tomatoes
sour cream
and of course, the 4,800 calories

But that’s not the interesting part. PETA has done some math and come up with the environmental impact of this monstrous sandwich.

To create just ONE of these heart attack babies – it requires:

27 pounds of grain
4,000 gallons of water

That is insane – I mean just think about it for a sec. 4,000 gallons of water for one sandwich.

Just say no to this dumb marketing ploy or better yet, send a letter to Fifth Third Ballpark in West Michigan – and let them know just how terribly wasteful this is.

Most people are not using them and to add insult to injury, every time a new one is sent out the old directory is thrown away. Perhaps it is time for people to seriously consider not accepting new phone books.

Most phone books are actually made from recycled paper and wood fibre waste; it is also true that many thousands of these books are also recycled every year. However, this is not enough as over six hundred and sixty thousand tons of phone books are thrown away each in the US.

Pixxlz seems to be offering something new on the table as far as paper use is concerned. One of the important elements in running a printing press is the source of paper. Paper is normally made from trees but it looks like we are now seeing a new batch of paper that are no less made from elephant dung.

There are no toxic chemicals used in the paper-making process, only basic bonding agents such as alum and rosin, along with water soluble salt dyes for coloring. Free of bleach and acids, no alkaline solutions are introduced during manufacturing. Dunkin Donuts Using “Worm-Power”

Dunkin Donuts has been around for some time now and while we have seen them diminish in numbers of outlets, there are some that are still up and about. There is one outlet that has been put up in St. Petersburg, Florida, and it has been touted o be eco-friendly. In what way? Worms.

No they are not using the worms as part of their classic donuts. Rather, they are stored in a solar-powered composter.

All food and beverage waste is converted to fertilizer by a worm-filled, solar-powered composter behind the donut shop.

The worms eat the scraps and the resulting fertilizer is then provided to local farmers.

Now this has a couple of possibilities most people love a nice cup of coffee in the morning to get them going, but it is not that we are talking about. It seems that coffee not only produces a kick start in the morning it can also produce a very fine bio diesel too.

The good thing about this method of producing bio diesel is that it actually takes place after the coffee has been used. This means that all of those coffee shops around the world could be sitting on a potential gold mine as it is the oil that the grounds contain that can be used, you have to wonder though, does the exhaust smell like the inside of Starbucks?

The garbage and trash that we normally throw away are always regarded as useless. But for the creative artists out there, they can go beyond that if taken up and close. We have seen a lot of people turn old bottles, scrap metals and even used cloth into something breathtaking and apparently if you compare it to eco-friendly issues, it very well falls in the category of recycling and reuse.

Not all people will be able to take time out and think of such. But in the end, it all boils down to how you can make do with discarded items often referred to as trash.

Give your items some thought and for sure you can come up with something worthy as far as expressing art in any form you may deem ideal in your eyes and the audience as well.

Solar Powered Trash Can Compactor

We are all aware of the growing trash problem and apparently there should be various ways to help out your local garbage collectors. We have seen the shift towards biodegradable items but apparently this is not enough. There is a new idea introduced in the market by BigBelly Solar and it has something to do with compacting trash using solar power.

The problem here is perhaps will people buy it? It seems too futuristic and while the intent is clearly towards the path of eco-friendly ideas, the only thing remaining is for people to adapt to it.

BigSolar is their latest waste management application: a futuristic trashcan running on solar power. The modern version of their street side rubbish bin aims to provide a better way of garbage compaction, thereby reducing frequent trips on the part of the collectors and at the end of the day bringing down costs.

They are made from recycled plastic and have a solar panel on top generating 30 watts of power. The BigBelly Solar claims an 80 per cent saving over other trash collection processes. This saving comes through a patented better compaction system leading to a trash capacity of 150pounds a day. And the company says that it cuts out 4 out of 5 trips needed to empty a normal receptacle.

Samsung is a brand known in the electronics world but not in printers. But while they may be known for monitors or even mobile phones, their product line also has a few of these printers in tow. In fact, to jumpstart their eco-friendly efforts, they are offering a new trade-in program (TIP) that will allow their customers to trade-in their old laser printers valued at most at $200 and then get a new one.

Not a bad deal if you want to get these new eco-friendly devices these days. A new printer may be the best bet to go eco-friendly through proper disposal of your old printer and get a new one in lieu of that.

The program began on July 1, and will run until September 30, 2008. First, the customer needs to purchase any new model Samsung printer, including laser models and MFPs. Then, visit www.samsung.com/tip to enter details about their old printer model. Results will be tabulated to determine how much the printer is worth.

Then, just fax or mail back the confirmation e-mail, along with the original proof of purchase receipt and the old product (a shipping label will be provided), and Samsung will send a cheque for the appropriate amount within 6-8 weeks once the product has been received and inspected.

Samsung Offers Eco-friendly Printers

Ineos Plan to Turn Waste to Bioethanol

What do you do with excess garbage that landfills can no longer accommodate? For most, the immediate answer would be to recycle them. But for Ineos, turning waste into fuel is similar to turning trash to gold.

By 2011, this is what Ineos predicts to happen. They are planning to put up a large scale waste to energy facility which will ultimately produce bioethanol and help address the growing fuel problem the world is experiencing at the moment.

Ineos claims that its bioethanol, which can either be blended with petrol or replace it altogether, reduces greenhouse gases by 90% and avoids using food crops in the production process.

Mr Williams said: “The fact that we have been able to decouple second generation biofuel from food is a major breakthrough, and we expect our technology to provide cost competitive, sustainable, renewable fuels.

Ineos Plan to Turn Waste to Bioethanol

For most of us, recycling is as easy as being able to throw away used stuff such as cans or paper in the trash bin. But most countries today are also employing various measures to make sure that such practices as waste segregation to help the recycling and waste problem control process are met.

While we all know which materials can be recycled, our duties as concerned citizens sometimes tends to take a backseat. It is either we are doing it on purpose or are really lacking the understanding of what recycling really is. With the influx of Recycling police, a crackdown on erring people and the need to assist people who fail to realize what recycling does mean is a good way to help keep things in perspective.

With the launch of Manukau’s new recycling service this week the detectives have been going ahead of collection trucks checking recycling wheelie bins.

When they discover rubbish, plastic bags or anything else that can’t be recycled inside the wheelie bins, they slap a sticker on the bin so the truck doesn’t empty it.

They also leave a reminder about what can and can’t go in the recycling wheelie bins.

Recycling Police on the Prowl

New Trash Bins to help Sort Recyclable Materials

In an effort to help sort out and identify the recyclable materials, blue trash bins have become a way to allow local citizens in Auckland in helping the recycling effort. They are now placed there so that people can help in the trash sorting process. Only recyclable materials are allowed to be placed there. Otherwise, they will not be collected.

But to date, many Auckland folks are still ignoring the real use of these blue trash bins. Stickers have been placed to remind them and should they continue, they will just find their trash piling up.

Perhaps this is a good example we can follow especially if we in our local areas are having trouble contributing to the entire green effort.

The city’s new collection service began on Monday, but blue crates still lined the kerbs alongside new 240-litre wheelie bins.

A council spokeswoman says recyclables put out in the old crates won’t be collected.

Instead a sticker is being put on the crates to remind residents to use the new bins.

“Rubbish detectives” have been going ahead of trucks this week to check for contaminants in the bins, and leaving notes for offending residents.

New Trash Bins to help Sort Recyclable Materials

Home Depot Offers CFL Recycling Program

In case you haven’t noticed, proper disposal for CFL lighting has been advised to most people today since they pose a serious threat if they are simply thrown at a garbage can and allowed to spread the harmful mercury substance that can really affect human health.

Thanks to the efforts of groups such as Home Depot, leading the pack in the proper disposal of these harmful CFL bulbs will go a long way.

Home Depot customers can now bring in any expired, unbroken CFL bulbs, and hand them in at the returns desk. The bulbs will then be managed by an environmental management company who will coordinate CFL packaging, transportation and recycling to maximize safety and ensure environmental compliance, Home Depot said in a release.

In addition to the CFL recycling program, The Home Depot has also launched an in-store energy conservation program to switch Light Fixture Showrooms in U.S. stores from incandescent bulbs to CFLs by Fall 2008, a move that will save a projected $16 million annually in energy costs.

4 Random Ideas To Green Your Business

DIY Solar Panels

This is not your ordinary DIY job; these panels are made from discarded and broken solar panels that can be found down at the tip or any other place that may take trash. But what the people who have thrown these away do not realise is that these panels are still ok to use. Sure they don’t as clean and shiny as new ones, but they are free and do work!

Tools needed:

To start making solar panels from broken solar cells you need a few things.

15-25 watt soldering iron

Light duty 60/40 electronics rosin core solder (radio shack $5.00 for a roll). You can use a silver solder, but I think it’s too expensive, and the difference in resistance is minimal. So I just use regular old electronics solder.

Multimeter

Pencil eraser

Solar tabbing pre tinned ribbing (ebay 100 feet is like $20 bucks)

A good flat sturdy working surface ( I use a piece of glass, but whatever you have will do)

DIY Solar Panels

Its art but not as we know it

They say that art is getting people to discuss the finished article, and this will definitely be the topic of many conversations as to whether this is art or not. Personally I like recycled art it show us all that no matter what the items are they do not have to be treated as trash.

These are by Robert Bradford and he has put together what can only be described as old toys and created these great pieces of work. What would be great is if they could have been made from what comes out the trash can, then it would be truly recycled trash into art.

UK dumps computers at tips

It seems the UK have a surplus of serviceable yet out dated computers and despite the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive, which should see most electrical items disposed of using the manufacturers own disposal facilities, it is estimated that some twelve and half million older laptops and PC’s have not been recycled or reused.

What’s worse is what is actually happening to these old machines. Twenty five per cent are taken to the tip, just dumped anywhere or get thrown out with the household waste. However ten per cent of people say that they have recycled their computer, while forty per cent claim to have given their old computers to friends, family or charities.

But over six million people said they leave their old computers lying around the house, garden or garage and over five million just take their old outdated machine to the local dump where they will ultimately end up in the landfill site.

UK dumps computers at tips

Nokia Offers E-Waste Recycle Program in Kenya

Along with the fast paced purchase of mobile phones comes the need to get rid and recycle old ones that have already served their purpose. Such is the point that Nokia has recognized and has thus introduced a program that will allow natives of Kenya to dispose of these old phones in lieu of new ones. Apparently, not all of us know the proper way to handle e-waste and with this program by Nokia, old phones that are no longer used as well as accessories can be dropped at local stores for recycling.

Nokia has launched a take-back and recycling initiative that offers consumers a structured way to dispose of old mobile phones and accessories.

This initiative comes at a time when the country was getting more concerned about handling electronic waste.

Under the move, consumers will drop old mobile phones and accessories at designated Nokia care centres including handsets from other manufacturers.

My roommate owns a restaurant, and i see styrofoam trays alot. More than i care to, really. These styrofoam trays (and the restaurant business) are so wasteful. They are terrible for the enviroment.

Well, here is a neat idea i found over at Crafty Bits, a Styro Foam Tray recycled project that involves turning these horrid trays into something pretty and something useful. The project is quite simple, can be done quickly, and is a great kid-friendly DIY idea.

Re-purpose the tray and make it hold something other than food, how about keys, jewelry, or knick knacks. Be creative.

Who is the best in Waste Management?

Apparently, at the rate at which most people have turned towards waste management practices, there is bound to be one model of such green efforts in putting a stop to growing garbage problems. And for the benefit of those who are not aware of who these are, the Swiss have been adjudged the champions towards waste management practices.

Their efforts are indeed commendable and the rate at which they have mastered the art of waste management is an example that many should follow.

Switzerland itself generally has a successful waste management policy. But although the Swiss are great recyclers, they are among the worse offenders in terms of the quantity of rubbish produced.

Poor waste disposal infrastructure and the rubbish tax have been blamed for the situation in Naples, as has the low recycling rate. There has also been interference by the Camorra, the Neapolitan version of the Mafia, which has a hand in the waste business.

Recycling Lowering the Figures of Trash Overflow

Hearing news of lowering the rising levels of trash capacity and management from anywhere is sure to provide a lot of smiles on the faces of people who have seen this problem growing out of bounds. Apparently, many of the recycling efforts in parts such as Mont Cuet have shown solutions towards the efforts and such has been lauded and commended.

Similar breakthroughs are expected from other regions as well and as long as these recycling efforts are done, one aspect of the green movement may be accomplished ahead of the other issues our world is now experiencing.

Public Services minister Bill Bell said that the figures were encouraging after all the efforts made to increase recycling.

‘It’s a sign of success. Every single month has been lower than the previous year’s month for the past 24.

‘The public have really caught on with recycling and the figures are a result of everyone’s efforts. It is the public that creates the waste so it’s good to see that they’re recycling it.’

At the latest Waste Disposal Authority meeting, senior project manager Rob Roussel said the indications were that Mont Cuet’s life expectancy could be considerably longer than the eight years previously stated.

In a project that is meant to show how waste does not have to be wasteful the “Why Waste” organisation works on how business waste can be used for the good of the planet.

The University of Sheffield has worked on such a project and come up with a structure that is useful and made from waste materials, they clearly did a great job here, just hope that it did not rain.

Waste Management Itineraries Among Issues for Resolution

One thing that local governments have to address once a new year starts is the fact of making detailed itineraries of their plan for the coming year. The year has just started and for some counties, the best way to detail their projects for the year is how to manage and take out the trash.

Indeed, all countries have to deal with trash and waste management. It has been something that has been going on for years now. While some find the usual landfills and turn to advanced technology like incinerators and recycling to lessen the load, it still remains that they will forever be in the annals of government proceedings due to the growing issue surrounding them.

(Source) “I think what you’re going to see is a continuation of some programs and reviews and studies,” he said, citing waste management as another issue that has to be tackled because of the declining life expectancy at local municipal landfills.

Pickard, who is mayor of Elizabethtown-Kitley Township, said his own municipality is “in pretty good shape” with its landfill near Greenbush.

However, the life expectancy of landfill sites in many other municipalities has been reduced dramatically and council has been looking at various options for waste management on a regional basis.

Last month, the counties’ joint services committee, which includes Brockville, Prescott and Gananoque, agreed to hire a consultant to examine options such as gasification, incineration and other new technologies, as well as opening ED-19, a long-dormant site in Edwardsburgh-Cardinal once expected to support a countywide landfill.

Norwich Increases Recycling Rates

If we count the number of countries and regions in the world who have shifted and embraced towards recycling practices, we may find the numbers quite intriguing. While many have already undergone the said shift to help promote recycling to a certain degree, cities in the world like Norwich will surely be part of cited regions that have heeded the need for recycling products and reduces issues like waste.

Leading the pack of recycled materials include that of aluminum and plastic used usually as packaging for end products that people either consume or use. The packages usually lose their use once the contents are emptied and rather than leave them rotting, recycling measures such as coding and donating them to institutions inclined to do recycling prowess is a good thing to consider.

New figures released by Norwich City Council show it has collected 7,500 tonnes of rubbish to be recycled since April this year, pushing its overall recycling rate from 18.4pc in April to nearly 25per cent.

This has now put the authority way-ahead of its target to reach 20pc for recycling by March 2008.

It is indeed the season to be merry and feasting but while we are experiencing this privilege, we also must take responsibility in the aftermaths that may occur during and after the Christmas season. We find ourselves in the midst of a lot of food and activities in line with the holidays and while most would just love to savor the moment, it would be best to consider the carbon footprints generated from it.

The food we prepare alone carries the carbon footprints that should be attended too. The amount of energy we invest and the food we eat, most of them have varying factors that we should put into consideration. While it may sound like a party pooper, we just have to take account that all of these are results from our lackadaisical attitude towards protecting our environment today.

“Everything we do and everything we buy creates energy.

“We took into account direct emissions – such as the energy used when a light is turned on – and indirect emissions, which is the energy used to grow or manufacture a product.”

Christmas dinner alone will create a mountain of waste, including peelings from 240 million sprouts across the UK.

Adding to the piles of waste will be peelings from 105 million potatoes and 20 million carrots.

So when you receive your Christmas gift, the first thing that comes into mind is to check out that valuable good and using it immediately. While this is the normal practice that most people who receive gifts would do, do remember that the packaging it comes from should also be put in its place.

Some would save the wrappers or boxes for further use. This is not really something new to people since rather than buying new ones, they can only resort to recycling old wrappers and boxes as long as they can still be used. Other than being cost-conscious, this practice also helps in the waste problem even though people may see it as something minimal at times.

U.S. Bans Incandescent Light Bulbs

President George Bush recently signed into law, the banning of incandescent lightbulbs.

The energy-friendly LED, Halogen, and CFL, are what they are to be replaced with. These are pricier (by a few dollars) but they also last much much longer and they will also save you moola in annual energy bills.

The incandescent lightbulbs are to be phased out over the next 10 to 12 years and no longer to be used. A tall task since Americans have been using the incandescents for over 125 years. But very doable.

I have found some inexpensive CFL’s at my local Walmart, they go for about $10 for a pack of 2 or 3. Their wattage is set up a bit differently too, a 13 watt CFL equals the same ouput as a traditional 60 watt incandescent. So look for the 13 watt packages.

Rising Costs of Waste Management in 2008

We all know that everything is going up. Prices have so far been becoming an issue and this covers everything from everyday needs up to that of vices we all look for today. Controlling our trash may be the next one in line considering the waste management companies may perhaps raise their prices as well since all other factors are leading up to it.

Facilities and operations costs are sure to be among the factors that need to be adjusted since by 2008, there will be added costs. For sure, all businesses will have to make the necessary adjustments. Waste management is not different from them.

(Source) Allentown residents will not pay higher property tax or water and sewer rates next year, but will pay $53 more for trash pickup.

City Council approved a 2008 budget Wednesday night that raises the garbage collection fee from $287 to $340.

The increase is needed to pay higher costs being charged to the city under its new contract with Waste Management, Mayor Ed Pawlowski told council. The fee also was increased this year, by $59, for a total increase of 49 percent over two years.

While technology is having its way with getting all the attention from all its gadgets released in the world today, the matter of ranking their environmental waste duties is still important. A lot of the leading manufacturers are aware of the need for green standards and it would be best to see how they rank.

For some, it may not be important with regards to their social responsibility towards being green conscious. But the thing is, we all have to be aware of where they rank for the reason that it is not only for the world but for our safety as well.

(Source) Companies that received low scores on the Green Scorecard provide little or no information on the toxic materials found within their electronics products, or such products contain uncommonly high levels of such materials, according to Greenpeace. Low scores can also be a result of a lack of effective product takeback and recycling efforts on the part of companies.

We are all aware of the many PC games we have played at a time. EASports has been known to provide good games in the form of role-playing and arcade to which has made most people stuck in the computers and playing these games individually or online.

But if there is one game that people fail to connect with the entire green movement and ecology issues we have today, there is a game which may be familiar to us that we have failed to recognize.

SimCity is a simulation role playing game that places us a mayor of certain towns. While our immediate goal is to make sure that we build and develop regions into rural or urban classes of society, there are also the qualms of having to adhere towards healthy living. As mayor, it is more than just peace and order, pollution, beautification and social interaction. There are in-game options that allow us to practice our going green beliefs.

Waste management and pollution are some of the usual problems the mayor of SimCity has to deal with. Add to that a growing population and the need for energy sources, you can more or less see how to play god and balance everything if you can.

It is a tough challenge to play SimCity, especially the latest releases from EASports. While you are awed by the whole game goal, try and check out how “SIMS” are reacting to your leadership. You may be surprised that they are no different from the way we all clamor and move towards greener living in the real world today.

Where Do Recycled Computers Really Go?

A new article from CNN delves into the computer recycling trade, and brings up solid but sordid details. For example, some recyclers are exporting old computers to foreign countries where they simply sit in overseas landfills un-recycled. OMG!

It is important to research a prospective recycler and find out more about the operation and its recycing process? Where do the computers go? Are they refurbished? What about computers that cannot be refurbished?

Also PC manufacuters should create components that make it easier to recycle them once they are at the end of their useful life. Some major computer manufacturers such as Apple, Dell, and HP have started to implement a give-back-program where consumers can send in their old PC or drop them off at a designated center. Hopefully other PC makers will soon follow suit.

Is recycling computers a bad idea?

No, i dont think so. It is a matter of doing some research and/ or spending a few extra dollars with a premium recycler to make sure your PC or other e-waste doesn’t end up in China or Africa un-recycled after all. Also there are a variety of things you can do with your old PC besides dropping it off at a recycling center, you can donate the used PC to a computer geek, who will refurbish it, and give it to a local church, non-profit, school, or clinic, etc. For more ideas, see my other article titled, Recycle Your PC.

Where Do Recycled Computers Really Go?

Cows thrive on recycled beer

The famous beer brewers of Suffolk Greene King are reclaiming the beer from their barrels and old beers that have been returned to be then forwarded on to farms who are giving it to the cows. However this beer is still going to be alcoholic but they still give it to the cows anyhow, stating that they still seem to like it.

Yet they say that it is recycling etc, but cows are the most un eco friendly animal around producing massive amounts methane, which is a very serious green house gas, and I would have thought that feeding them waste beer is not going make that situation any better, in fact it is more likely to get worse.

There are some strange things occurring around the world that go under the banner or eco friendly and green, it’s about time that there was “Green Standard” that everyone could stick to.

All efforts to help minimize waste and guide people to turn to recycling when it comes to managing their trash is evident. However, the world needs to note that their rising increase in the amount of waste that they need to dispose is slowly nearing limits and the overall victims would be the rest of the inhabitants of earth.

As a means of determining how much waste each individual is producing, this new “chip and bin” has been developed to show households how much rubbish or trash they truly have. Once they find out how much they are throwing away, this is perhaps something to which they would consider recycling as an alternative rather than simply placing waste in the usual garbage bags.

The so called ‘chip and bin’ scheme could see chips put in bins to collect data on the weight of household rubbish in order to encourage people to recycle more and throw away less.

Now here is something good to ponder on. For people who carelessly throw away their waste, maybe they can take this cue of being charged for the amount of trash they throw away. Perhaps in this aspect, people can see the amount of trash and the effort they throw in recycling and doing their part in the whole climate change and global warming issue we all read about today.

Last week the government shelved a similar recycling idea at the last minute. Now it’s been included in the Climate Change Bill.

It’s all about reducing the amount of rubbish going to landfill sites and getting people to recycle more. But there’s no information about which councils will do it or for how long.

Fighting for what people believe in as far as the green efforts is concerned may be commendable. But just like anything else, the whole initiative should start from the very grounds to which established sites will originate from.

People can start out headquarters and places to play office and home base towards the whole project or activity. However, good practices should be done immediately after and before launching the whole campaign. Failing to do so will surely make negative marks and question the whole intent of the drive to go green and help the world.
