Wow, here’s a way to recycle newspaper into functional well-designed foldable benches.

Kaisin took regular newspapers, layered, glued and compressed them to create a building material that is as strong as wood.  He then took these sheets and mimicked one of natures strongest forms, the honeycomb, to create this amazing expandable bench.

A uber cool coffeetable made with one recycled airplane wheel. I found this one at Green With Envy, a site dedicated to a wide variety of eco, recycled, and green gifts.

I have not come across this before, this is new to me. We have profiled loads of green recycled goodies, but not any with recycled airplane materials. So i was quite excited at this discovery.

The Boeing 707 wheel table is powder coated, with a 40″ tempered 3/8″ glass top and features internal illumination.

From the site, it seems this is a special order item, so if interested in it, call the site staff first. I previously profiled a coffeetable made out of a washing machine drum, and i thought that was pretty cool. This one is uber cool.

Just imagine having a dinner guest ask about your lovely table, and your response is, ” Oh, yeah that table is made using a recycled Boeing 707 airplane wheel”. Dude, that is too cool.

Their recycled teakwood comes from antique farm implements, yokes, plows, sugarcane grinders, and wagons from the old days. The wood is beautiful and rich in grain. I found this beautiful pair of reclaimed teakwood stump seats on their site.

Their is a catch though, they only sell to companies. Their shop is not open to the general public, but their work and philosophy is 100% eco friendly, and we love their designs.

Did you guess? They used to be used by the air crew for serving food and drinks on flights; they are now being sold as storage units by the German business Bordbar. They come in some really fancy designs and still have the wheels on, so there is no problem with moving them around.

They are quite expensive at around $1000, but they are well travelled though.
