Celebs to Judge Green TV Contest
Current TV and the Alliance for Climate Protection have joined forces to bring us “creative and provocative ecospots.”
It’s a contest, where you can make an eco-video and judges like George Clooney, Cameron Diaz and Rihanna will judge them. The best entires will hit television screens and the winner gets a hybrid SUV.
I’m sorry, but I think that’s as crazy as the folks over at Ecorazzi do.

Now, don’t get me wrong, equipping SUVs with hybrid technology is a beautiful small step to reducing the issues of global warming. But that’s all it is. I’m not sure if the organizers were worried that mainstream American culture would be turned off by the thought of winning something that isn’t an SUV, but with current mileage estimates for this thing coming in at around 31 city/27 highway, I’m really wishing the contest had a truly “green” prize. How about giving someone the option to have solar installed at their home or tricking out a Prius or two?
