Evan Almighty was a Green Production
Steve Carrell is proudly promoting his latest project, Evan Almighty, which plays on the Biblical story of Noah and the Great Flood, as a green production.
“The movie tried to practice what it preached. There were some days when we were 30 miles out of town and [director Tom Shadyc would] ride his bike to set, he really led by example and was very conscious of what the movie was about,” said Carrell in a recent interview.
“He took great care in how it was created and how the aftermath was left. So trees were planted to compensate for the oxygen that was being used, wood from the ark and from the houses was donated to Habitat For Humanity, I mean at every step they were very, very aware of the environment.”
I think it’s great stars want their films to go green, but considering how big movie productions can be, how long they last, and just how un-green they are, the director riding his bike doesn’t really cut it for me to call a film green.
But what do I know? God doesn’t talk to me!
However, Evan Almighty is also running a campaign where is you donate $5.00 to the Almighty Forest you can get your name on the Evan Almighty DVD. For details, go here.
Evan Almighty opens June 22nd.
