U.S. Energy Use Stats
There is alot of discussion on forums and blogs about carbon footprints in the U.S. and i wanted to provide some brief stats on United States energy use.
As cited in answers.com, in the U.S. the majority of the pollution we produce annually is divided into several sectors. Take a look at the chart below, it might surprise you to find out that our vehicle usage contributes 28% percent of all energy expended, more so than our homes or our businesses.
This is why carpooling, biking, mass transit, and alternative energy forms of transport are so highly suggested as one of the major things we should do to offset our carbon footprints.
