Rather than hit the beaches and do the usual summer activities on breaks or vacations, perhaps some people can take their cue from this event. Spring break usually brings to mind visions of wild parties, soaking up sunshine on the beach, and generally outlandish behavior. But students from across the country will be skipping the beaches and bars and picking up hammers and nails at an “alternative spring break” during this year’s 20th annual Habitat for Humanity Collegiate Challenge Break Build.

Students say now more than ever, young adults are looking for ways to impact issues like affordable housing, homelessness and hunger. State Farm is the national sponsor of Habitat Youth Programs and is sponsor of the 20th Anniversary celebration, which helps provide homes for low income families.
