5 Netbooks For The Energy Conscious Internet User
Have you heard of netbooks? These are a smaller version of traditional laptops. Because of their mini size, they tend to be great energy saving computing devices.
They are really becoming quite popular as they are super portable and are serving a new “internet only” market. With more and more apps going web based, the interwebs are where the action is at. As opposed to software you need to download.
What Makes These Netbooks Energy Savers?
Because of their mini size they tend to carry no hard drives which requires less overall power. And as such the battery tends to lasts longer, so no need to juice up as frequently as reg laptops.
Smart Money recently profiled 5 netbooks worth toting around. See the list below. Also do check out our sister site, Laptop Pimp for the latest and greatest in laptop (and netbook) reviews.
- Asus EEE PC 900 – Starts at $550
- Everex Coudbook – Starts at $399
- HP 2133 Mni Note PC – Starts at $499
- Fujitsu Lifebook U810 – Starts at $999
- 2go PC from CTL – Starts at $400
Of the 5 netbooks mentioned above, i would have to say my personal fave is the EEE PC. But not the 900 model, the newer 1000 model which carries a 10 inch screen. Nice!
Also note that if you’re not familiar with Linux, make sure you opt for Windows XP models.
