A water bottle that is eco friendly!

by David Allen on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Well not quite, this is a bottle, but not just a bottle, it can be used for anything that you may desire, but preferably water!

The design is sleek and modern, with swirls on the body; the purchaser can even customize these bottles, by ordering different options from the menu.

Called SIGG it is as much as a lifestyle as much as a choice of what you drink out of, with a capacity of 0.6 liter, the bottle is cracks proof and completely reusable time after time.

Available in wide range of colors and accessories to match the bottle costs around $18.99 as it stands, $1 to added, if you require a colored cap, there are may colors to choose from.

Other than the pretty patterns, how is this any different from a typical Nalgene bottle (which is also crack-proof and half the price)? How is it Eco-friendly, other than the fact that it's a re-useable water bottle?

SIGG bottles are not supposed to be frozen under any circumstances, which means they are not ideal for cold-climate outdoor winter activities, while Nalgene bottles are freezable. Also, the SIGG website claims that the bottle is recyclable, but my municipal recycling program only takes commercial aluminum beverage cans. SIGG doesn't offer any suggestions as to where to recycle their product, and they don't take it back.

Looks like a good marketing campaign to me.
