Major companies have done their share of trying to lean more towards a cleaner and conservative energy source and Apple is no exception. In fact, the popular company takes pride in revealing that their various facilities run on 75% renewable energy.
Apple Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer reports that their North Carolina facility generates about 167 million kilowatts through a 100 acre solar farm and fuel cell installation. The amount of energy is enough to power around 17,600 homes annually.
The said facility is used for internet storage and iCloud hosting. The CFO likewise bared that most of its corporate facilities are switching to green power, aiming to possibly make use of renewable energy for all its facilities, something which should answer criticisms that big companies such as Apple receives due to its operating power hungry data centers and operations.
