Best In Green (From Ideal Bite) Winners Announced
Ideal Bite recently hosted their very first green awards show, co sponsored by MSN Green and many notables were honored.
Among the winners was the Amazon Kindle, an innovative device which is basically like an mp3 player for books. It holds electronic versions of printed books and has a rather large hard drive capacity, it holds loads of titles. The Amazon Kindle won in the FUN category.
The other winners are listed below:
Next In Green – Josie Maran (actress model and green activist who created an organic and eco friendly cosmetic line)
Everyday Living - Smart For Two car (most fuel efficient gas powered vehicle in the US)
Home – TED (home gadget that measures energy consumption and tells you how and where to conserve)
Food – Blue Ocean Institute (text service to get info on fish species) This one is weird. But on the site, there is a note which is new to me. They claim that scientists have come to the conclusion that by 2048 we will no longer have seafood available, if (unsustainable) fishing practices don’t change. 2048? Wow. Will have to look further into this, and write a separate article on this interesting rumoid. Also as a vegetarian, i’m against seafood. But that is beside the point, it is alarming that our fishing practices are so bad (or so greedy) that we are running out of sea animals. How shameful.
Style – End Footwear (eco friendly shoes that strives to use recycled and organic materials)
Health/Beauty – Eco Tools (bamboo cosmetic brushes)

Congrats! to all the deserving winners and i (don’t know about you) but i can’t wait for the 2009 nominees.
