BoGo Solar Flashlight

by erin on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

Solar flashlights. Big deal, right? It’s not a new idea, and there really isn’t anything special about the BoGo brand. It’s a stylish, functional flashlight that is available for $25.00 from their website.

Or is it? What makes BoGo special is that whenever you Buy One, BoGo will Give One (get it?!) to a charity working in a developing country. This is pretty great news for NGOs working in places where electricity is scarce, and sun is plentiful! Additionally, flashlights of this quality (re: good) are rarely donated to places that really need them!

If you want to learn more, check out the article in The New York Times about BoGo.

Additionally, the BoGo flashlights last up to 20 years, charges in 8 hours to provide 5 hours of light.
