Eco-friendly Bonfires in Belfast

What is it exactly about bonfires that places them into society? For some it may be a form of unity taken from tradition but they can also be environmental mishaps if not taken seriously. They can be great at times to have, especially in victory celebrations but surely we can do better than that.

Applying an eco-friendly touch, Belfast has undertaken a move to seek alternative solutions that will make bonfires eco-friendly. While they are still undergoing tests, for sure they are meant to improve tradition, something that is keenly seen especially for creating unity on occasions.

The fires, traditionally topped with a tri-colour, give off huge amounts of pollutants and some loyalist areas have already banned them on safety grounds.
